  • In 2000, Dovizioso claimed the 125cc Italian Aprilia Competition. Dovizioso won the 125cc European Championship in 2001, and he also raced in his first World Championship race at Mugello, where he retired.
  • Dovizioso participated in the 125cc World Championship with Team Scot Honda in 2002, placing 16th overall. His finest achievements were two ninth-place finishes in Le Mans and Donington Park. In 2003, he remained with the squad, placing fifth in the overall standings and earning four podium finishes.
