John Madden was a football legend in the United States. He was widely recognized as the finest coach and sportscaster of all time. From 1969 through 1978, Madden was the head coach of the Oakland Raiders of the National Football League (NFL). He led them to a championship triumph in Super Bowl XI because of his strategies and management (1977). John worked as a color commentator on NFL telecasts after retiring from coaching until 2009.
Madden was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2006 for his coaching career. He is also well-known for the long-running Madden NFL video game series, which he named, sponsored, and headlined beginning in 1988. Madden served on all four major networks as a color analyst: CBS (1979–1993), Fox (1994–2001), ABC (2002–2005), and NBC (2006–2008).
